XTA-50 - Tunable filter with adjustable bandwith

Electronically controlled. Center wavelength and bandwidth can both be set precisely and independently. Covers all key wavelengths from 1260 nm to 1650 nm and bandwidths from 32 pm (4 GHz) to 5 nm.

Key features

Adjustable bandwidth flat-top filter
Ultra-sharp filter edges
High Isolation
200 nm wavelength range
High accuracy and repeatability
Narrowest filter – Highest selectivity

Channel selection for bit error rate testing
Analysis of sub-band of complex modulation formats
Channel spacing reduction
WDM-PON, DWDM systems testing
Amplification analysis
Cascaded ROADM emulation
Active component and module testing
Transponders testing

The XTA-50 tunable filter is the reference tool for channel selection or even sub-band extraction thanks to its adjustable bandwidth in combination with very steep edges:

  • Standard version: 50 pm (6.25 GHz) to 950 pm (120 GHz) with 500 dB/nm
  • Ultrafine version: 32 pm (4 GHz) to 650 pm (80 GHz) with 800 dB/nm
  • Wide version: 50 pm (6.25 GHz) to 5000 pm (625 GHz) with 500 dB/nm

The extremely sharp edges ensure a clean cut between the signal and the adjacent channels or noise, while the flat-top square shape ensures data integrity. The filters offer the highest selectivity available on the market and allow for many new fiber-optic transmission experiments.

For efficient operation, it has a user-friendly touch screen interface with four menus:

  • Wavelength and bandwidth selection
  • Predefined ITU grids: 25, 50, 100 and 200 GHz
  • Customer defined grid
  • A sequence for systematic bit-error rate testing
