Report: CSPs' Top QoS/QoE Issues and How Virtualization Will Help

According to the latest TM Forum Quick Insights report, Quality Customer Experiences: Managing Challenges, Maximizing Opportunities, mobile customers say that quality of service and experience (QoS/QoE) are major factors when deciding whether to leave an operator.

It’s no wonder, then, that QoS and QoE are top priorities for communication service providers (CSPs)—but how to stay ahead of service issues before they impact performance and drive away customers?

These are some of the challenges explored in the new TM Forum report, a unique opportunity to hear from network operators about their most pressing QoS/QoE issues, and the insights and new tools they want to resolve them.

This report also points to the potential of network functions virtualization (NFV), which will make it easier for service providers to deploy new solutions for monitoring network quality. Ihab Mahna, EXFO Solutions Architect, provides more detail on NFV in his contribution to the report:

“Virtualization is all about network operators getting maximum value from their assets ... [However] in a virtualized world, simply having an analytics platform in place is not enough. EXFO’s use of analytics is not about long-term cost analytics or building personas, but instead about automating real-time, end-to-end analytics for services and the network, and enabling a DevOps approach.”
