EXFO Receives 2016 Product Line Strategy Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan

QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, February 23, 2016—EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO) (TSX: EXF) announced today that it has been named the recipient of Frost & Sullivan’s 2016 Product Line Strategy Leadership Award for its centralized radio access network (C-RAN) testing solutions.

Frost & Sullivan award

According to Frost & Sullivan, a leading global growth consulting firm, EXFO’s comprehensive product suite of high-performance C-RAN test solutions, which span the RAN and Internet protocol multimedia subsystem, help to cohesively address customers’ QoS and QoE needs when deploying and maintaining major fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) networks and C-RAN architecture for future cellular networks.

“The incorporation of centralized radio access networks into legacy-based network infrastructures is fraught with challenges. EXFO provides network operators a comprehensive platform that provides seamless visibility across the transport link, while ensuring uptime at the remote radio head (RRH) and the base band unit,” said Rohan Thomas, Analyst at Frost & Sullivan.

Frost & Sullivan benchmarked EXFO against competitors, evaluating the breadth of product portfolios, technology leverage, features, price/performance value and brand equity, in order to evaluate the product line strength and customer value each company brought to the market. EXFO’s C-RAN solutions include the FTB-700G Series, a powerful and compact tester which combines all the essential fiber optic tools, such as the FIP-435B Wireless Fiber Inspection Probe and the Intelligent Optical Link Mapper (iOLM), with Ethernet and CPRI protocol test capabilities, ideal for any FTTA deployments. Combined with EXFO Connect, EXFO Xtract and Fiber Guardian, EXFO’s integrated approach, unprecedented ease of use, and ability to significantly reduce mobile network operators’ CAPEX and OPEX impressed Frost & Sullivan.

“This award is a testament not only to EXFO’s innovation in C-RAN testing solutions, but also our pragmatic understanding of operators’ true needs—now and in the future,” said Stéphane Chabot, Vice-president of EXFO's Physical-Layer Test Division. “Operators can rely on a single partner for all their C-RAN testing needs and benefit from reduced costs, improved efficiency and better bottom-line results.”
