Rennes, FRANCE, October 17, 2018 – EXFO Inc. (NASDAQ: EXFO, TSX: EXF), the communications industry test, monitoring and analytics experts, today kicked off the transition of its operations in Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande under the EXFO brand, following the acquisition of Astellia earlier this year.
This important step in Astellia’s integration into EXFO’s global operations was highlighted in the presence of Loïg Chesnais-Girard, President of the Regional Council of Brittany; Emmanuel Couet, Mayor of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Lande and President of Rennes Métropole; and Germain Lamonde, Founder and Executive Chairman of the EXFO Board of Directors. France-based customers and Breton institutional partners were also invited to take part in this milestone event, which marks Astellia’s entry into the extended EXFO family.
EXFO now more than 2,000 employees in nearly 30 countries.
In February 2018, EXFO announced the acquisition of Astellia at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. The combination of Astellia’s portfolio of solutions and services with EXFO’s complementary offerings helps strengthen EXFO as a global leader and go-to provider in its market. The company helps telecom operators and equipment manufacturers navigate major technological and operational transformations, including the deployment of 5G and ultra-high-speed fiber optic networks.
“We have always taken a close interest in the development of Astellia which, in a few short years, has emerged as a flagship of the Breton economy. EXFO’s arrival here is an acknowledgement of the company’s and the region’s leading expertise at the international level. Yet another global leader has found a place to thrive here, in our ecosystem. This is definitely another boost for the visibility of digital Brittany.”
-Loïg Chesnais-Girard, President of the Regional Council of Brittany
“Astellia’s know-how in delivering a quality subscriber experience is a natural addition to EXFO's proven expertise in network testing, monitoring and analytics. For us, it is a logical and natural continuation. To succeed in today’s technological environment, we must be able to support our customers from the core of the network all the way to the subscriber.”
-Germain Lamonde, Founder and Executive Chairman
“Quebec and Brittany are recognized worldwide as centers of technological innovation and entrepreneurship in telecommunications. By joining forces, we can take EXFO to new heights. It’s a real honor to now be part of the thriving Breton ecosystem.”
-Germain Lamonde, founder and Executive Chairman
