A case study webinar: how a 5G provider improved KPIs and reduced costs

Frequency bands over wireless networks are getting overcrowded, and space is not unlimited. And as the number and type of devices coming online increases, the number of interference-causing sources also increases. This can lead to reduced coverage, capacity and throughput—all of which can have a major impact on the quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE) for the end user. With so many 4G/LTE and 5G cell sites being deployed, cell technicians and contractors will need smarter RF test tools and processes to help them do more, faster and with first-time- right results. As well, being able to quickly diagnose the root cause of RF interference issues will be key for helping operators drive down costs, improve network quality and maximize ROI on their RF investment. In this case study webinar, we will discuss how frontline technicians were able to detect, identify and locate RF interference issues at a 5G non-standalone site—consequently, improving site KPIs and generating significant cost savings quickly and easily. Key topics for discussion: how did RF interference affect the operator’s 5G network? how did radio frequency (RF) spectrum analysis over CPRI help determine the root cause of the issue? RF over-the-air spectrum analysis: which best practices were used to help locate interference sources?

Accelerating FTTx rollouts while reducing costs - utopia or reality?

Please note, this webinar will be presented in German. FTTx rollouts are in full swing in Europe’s German-speaking countries. The number of FTTH connections has ramped up hugely in the last 2 years. However, due to the shortage of skilled workers, there is also a growing awareness of the need to boost the efficiency of network installations by accelerating rollouts while simultaneously minimizing costs.   This webinar explores three novel approaches to achieve cost-effective efficiency: Centralized testing leveraging OTDR technology for a more managed, yet largely autonomous, automated deployment and continuous 24/7 monitoring.   Automation of on-site acceptance measurement. Acceleration of network availability through the validation of network construction progress and quality in real time with the aim of earlier commissioning. All in all, this leads to just-in-time billing.  Optical fiber multimeter at work during FTTx installation. This equips technicians in the final construction phase with a simple, fast analysis method to increase quality while avoiding repeat truck rolls or escalating promptly to second-level technicians in the event of a fault.

Tips for testing and troubleshooting today’s DWDM networks

Technologies like 5G and cloud services have fueled a tremendous increase in bandwidth demand. Installation of high-count fiber and an increase in bandwidth to 100G+ have helped meet some requirements, but to fully meet unsatisfied demand, advanced technologies like dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) must be deployed. DWDM has long been a technology used on backbone transport but it’s now pushing out into the metro environment to feed bandwidth-hungry services. Front line technicians and contractors who install, maintain, and troubleshoot metro services today will need to prepare for advanced technologies like DWDM. This 45-minute webinar will cover the following topics: introduction to DWDM (5 minutes) architecture and components of a DWDM network (10 minutes) passive vs active xWDM testing (5 minutes) qualifying and maintaining a healthy network (20 minutes) understanding OSNR and how it impacts your network (5 minutes)

Monitoramento de Redes Ópticas: A peça faltante no quebra-cabeças de monitoramento de redes de banda larga e 5G

This webinar will be presented in Portuguese.
