Highlights
Test procedure compliance matters
Nearly 40% of organizations have experienced major outages due to human error in the past three years, with 85% of these incidents resulting from staff failing to adhere to methods of procedure (MoPs) or from flawed procedures. (Study by Uptime Institute, 2023).
Always-on connectivity
The FTB Lite Series builds upon EXFO’s innovation in OTDR testing with a secure Connected First™ approach that complements its dedicated and rugged design. Always-on and seamless connectivity to EXFO Exchange delivers unprecedented gains in compliance, efficiency, security and visibility.
- Streamlined compliance and automated validation: Automated job tracking and real-time reporting confirm adherence to methods of procedure (MoP) ensure compliance with testing standards while reducing errors and administration time.
- Enhanced collaboration and efficiency: Real-time data sharing, automated uploads, and cloud-based reporting enable seamless teamwork, faster decision-making, and accelerated project timelines.
- Valuable insights: Automated access to comprehensive live data to perform analytics and extract insights, enabling informed decision-making and planning.
Icon-based mapping
Optical Link Mapper (OLM) is included with all FTB Lite OTDRs.
OLM interprets OTDR traces automatically and provides an icon-based view of the elements on the link:
- Automatic analysis of multiple wavelengths with a consolidated link view display.
- Synced with events and placed below the linear view to see all events on the link.
- Display of end-to-end link length, loss and ORL according to pass/fail settings.
- Automatic parameter settings and clear go/no-go results.
- Prompt guidance on where and what the network issues are.
Swap-Out connector
This OTDR comes with a Swap-Out connector which can easily be changed, as and when needed, without having to send the test unit to a service center. This ensures optimal performance over time without undue maintenance costs and downtime. The OTDR's optical connector health can be checked with an onboard diagnostic tool to replace the connector only when necessary.
Your calibration date remains valid, even after swapping the connector. No need to calibrate your unit sooner than planned.
Did you know? Was your OTDR connector damaged when connecting a UPC cable to the APC port on your device? This no longer needs to cause downtime by sending the device back for repair. Thanks to EXFO’s Swap-Out connectors, you can now check connector health instantly and replace your connector within seconds if needed–directly from the field!
