Timing refers to the accurate representation of time across multiple network elements and synchronization ensures that these elements are operating in unison. This is crucial for 5G NR TDD because the TDD mode of operation demands that uplink and downlink transmissions be timed precisely to avoid interference and ensure optimal resource utilization. With stringent requirements demanded by 5G NR TDD networks, what role does timing and synchronization play for service reliability and user experience? What testing processes are required to help identify and resolve potential issues on the timing and synchronization systems?
