Delivering top customer experience across a telco cloud network
A key goal for WINDTRE, Italy’s top mobile service provider and a leading alternative fixed network operator, is to be recognized as the best service provider in the country for quality of customer experience. To achieve that, the company has made an impressive, multi-billion euro investment in network virtualization to pave the way for 5G. That investment includes a variety of service assurance solutions from EXFO’s Nova line.
To meet bandwidth, mobility, latency and encryption needs, cloud-based 5G networks require fast, automated and dynamic resource scaling. In this context, customer experience is a major challenge for operators migrating to network virtualization and 5G—especially for IoT and business-to-business (B2B) market applications. They must deliver a highly reliable network with comprehensive, consistent coverage.
To meet that challenge, WINDTRE selected EXFO over competing service assurance vendors, including the incumbent provider, to deliver service assurance solutions for network performance, service quality monitoring and troubleshooting.

EXFO will be providing service assurance covering all network technologies, from 2G through 5G core networks, and core IP multimedia subsystems (IMS). Solutions will span EXFO’s Nova applications—specifically Nova Explorer, Nova Care, Nova Analytics—in addition to virtual probes, supporting WINDTRE network and service operations.
