Gwenn Amice is a Subject Matter Expert at EXFO, where he specializes in next-generation optical networks. In his current role, Gwenn provides technical seminars, training, and support to EXFO's customers, helping them navigate the complex landscape of optical network technology. He also offers technical advice to customers, leveraging his deep expertise to help them overcome any challenges they may encounter.

Since 2019, Gwenn has also served as a Senior Member of Technical Staff, representing EXFO at industry events and working closely with product development groups to ensure that EXFO's solutions remain at the cutting edge of the field.

With 28 years of experience in the entire lifecycle of telecom networks, Gwenn brings a wealth of knowledge to his role at EXFO. He holds a university degree in electrical engineering and industrial computing and is a passionate advocate for continued learning and growth. Gwenn is committed to staying up-to-date on the latest trends and technologies in his field, and is dedicated to helping EXFO's customers succeed in the rapidly-evolving world of optical network technology.

François Marcotte

Subject Matter Expert

François Marcotte is a Senior member of technical staff and Subject Matter Expert at EXFO. With 30+ years in the telecom industry, he started as a repair tech for DMS-100 systems. Over the years, François has acquired expert knowledge on Ethernet, IP, OTN and high speed optical technologies. He is continuously working with customers as a technical advisor for testing high speed systems and troubleshooting 5G performance. François is involved with product definition and guidance at EXFO for Ethernet and optical transport solutions. He regularly contributes as a speaker in various seminars and webinars. François graduated in electrical engineering from Polytechnique Montreal.

This webinar provides an overview of the latest transceivers modules for 200G, 400G and 800G. We will address fiber characterization requirements when deploying those higher speed transceivers. 

The webinar first covers latest trends and evolutions for transceivers, including standards and applications, before delving into two effects that have significant potential impacts on high-speed transmissions—namely chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). 

 Our test expert will also be providing best practices for fiber network characterization in a data center interconnect (DCI) environment as well as network engineering rules that simplify the deployment of those new transceivers in today’s high-speed networks.
