400G Technologies: New challenges that lie ahead

Webinar of the Week Blog Series

In the last 12 months, we have seen multiple trials for 200G and 400G transmission worldwide on both client and line sides, which have presented multiple challenges. At this moment, new technologies and standards are being developed by groups, such as ITU, IEC, OIF, IEEE, to meet beyond 100G network requirements.

This webinar reviews potential technologies enabling transmission beyond 100G and the expected challenges related to deployment and testing, with a particular focus on long-haul and metro requirements. It also addresses potential approaches and modulation schemes allowing 400G transmission, flexgrid and superchannels, Nyquist filtering, spectral testing and channel definition, as well as a brief review of the status and progress in the various Standards group.
