EXFO represented on World Broadband Association (WBBA) inaugural board of directors

EXFO Advisor Paul Morrissey was recently named as one of 12 members of the newly-established World Broadband Association’s board of directors representing industry-leading companies from around the world including network operators, equipment manufacturers, and network testing manufacturers. EXFO is a provider of test and measurement solutions that span broadband applications such as fast-growing FTTx deployments.

The WBBA, a multilateral, industry-led association, was formed to provide leadership for digital broadband throughout the next decade. Its goal is to champion the business, consumer, and citizen outcomes that broadband has the capability to deliver around the world through converged network and cloud infrastructure.

“With my representation of EXFO on the WBBA board, the company is positioned to take a leading role in setting the agenda for the world’s first broadband governing body directed by the industry for the industry,” said Prof. Morrissey. “Together with the other key contributors, we will strive to maximize the social and economic benefits of equality of broadband for all.”

EXFO is well equipped to contribute input on broadband proliferation given that the company has worked for many years with key service providers globally to support their broadband access network deployments. EXFO’s broadband access test solutions cover every phase of the network lifecycle -- from construction to activation and maintenance. With highly intuitive and durable solutions, EXFO innovations in test and measurement solutions include Optical Time Domain Reflectometers (OTDRs), Optical Line Test Sets (OLTS), fiber inspection solutions, and more.
