Description

Designed for manufacturing

EXFO’s FTBx-9160 switches deliver excellent performance in a compact modular format. The 1xN models are MEMS based while the 2x2 switches are latest generation opto-mechanical design. Both 1xN and 2x2 are fast (<30 ms) and repeatable with an extended lifetime expectancy. This is the perfect optical switch for demanding manufacturing applications in a 24/7 operating cycle.

Multiple configurations available

  • Singlemode models – 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x12, 1x16, 1x24, 1x32 and 2x2 configurations are supported
  • Multimode models – 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x12, and 2x2 configurations are supported
  • Polarization Maintaining models – 1x2, 1x4, 1x8, 1x12, and 2x2 configurations are supported

A multitude of applications

Optical switches are critical building blocks integrated in almost every test station. The FTBx-9160 is the perfect switch to support a wide variety of applications with all common fiber types, whether SMF, MMF or PMF. Use the FTBx-9160 switch to:

  • Share test instruments, such as an optical spectrum analyzer, a bit-error-rate tester, communication analyzer or many others.
  • Build complex, reconfigurable R&D or manufacturing test stations
  • Test multiple devices in parallel, or perform multiple tests on a single device
  • Perform automated bi-directional testing with the 2x2 configuration
  • Any other application that requires reliable fiber-to-fiber switching

Multiple Platforms to choose from

You can select either the LTB-2 (1U), the LTB-8 (3U) or the lTB-12 (4U) platform for your application. Within all these platforms, the FTBx-9160 can be easily automated via ethernet or GPIB interface using SPCI commands, IVI drivers, or REST APIs. Software development kits (SDKs) are available.

Try it out
