October 2026 releases notes
FTB Lite - version 1.7
Remote access
Remote access for LAN (Wi-Fi / Ethernet) connectivity using RDP and protected with a password. Great for local training, screen captures, etc.
Quick settings widget
Quick access to enable/disable connectivity, view battery percentage, adjust brightness, and access detailed settings. Note that the power icon has been relocated from the Home Screen to the Quick Settings (Shutdown / Sleep) to align more closely with mobile/tablet architectures.
Job Mode Update
Location A, Location B are now default identifiers—formerly in Job Properties—now default in Sequence.
OTDR Topology Update
Re-named Undefined topology as Point-to-Point to better reflect terminology used in the field. In addition, users can select under PON, Standard Splitter and Unbalanced Splitter.
Method added to OTDR setup
Directions of Unidirectional A –> B and Unidirectional B –> A can now be set from the Method menu and the metadata has been updated to include direction (viewers, etc.).
Improved Extended acquisition parameters
Extended acquisition parameters show Range and Duration (two Ranges if module is a SM and MM variant). Custom ranges can now be added. Remain in auto-settings and use of optimized range can now be enabled.
First Connect Check
User can enable First Connector Check for both OTDR and iOLM to verify if the fiber is properly connected to the FTB LITE SM/MM port.
RBS and IOR updates
Under Configuration, Link Definition menu, Rayleigh Backscatter (RBS) coefficient and Index of Refraction (IOR) at each wavelength can now be specified, not only at 1550 nm.
Helix factor setting added
Users can now specify the percentage of Helix Factor for OTDR link definition.
OMFT Optical Power Checker
An optical power checker has been added to the FTB LITE 975. The Power Checker works on both DF and MF-24 ports. All 24 fibers show the receiving light simultaneously.
OMFT SmartRef Threshold adjustment
The ability to adjust the SmartRef threshold has been added to the Config section of the FTB LITE 975. In addition, an option to enforce the reference validation has been added to the setting to prevent users from starting the test should they have a failing reference measurement.
