5G requires frequency and phase synchronization to support advanced features such as time-division duplex (TDD), dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) and beamforming. Operators are turning to network synchronization, relying on IEEE 1588 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) and Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) as the preferred solution to synchronize every network element, from the core to the radios, in frequency and in phase.

This webinar will cover the timing & synchronization challenges that 5G brings and the standards and test applications that ensure optimal delivery of 5G use cases.

 Key takeaways:

  • The basics of 1588 PTP
  • Understanding the impact of bad synchronization in a wireless network
  • How to troubleshoot timing and synchronization issues
