EXFO Supports Infinera and DANTE’s Guinness World Record Achievement

If you haven’t heard, Infinera and DANTE (Delivery of Advanced Network Technology to Europe) recently installed and activated an astonishing 8 Terabits per second (Tbit/s) of long haul super-channel optical capacity using Infinera’s DTN-X platform in only 19 min 01 sec, which turns out to be the fastest rate ever recorded for provisioning multi-Terabit optical capacity.

And how did DANTE confirm this record? By using EXFO’s validation equipment because it offers the ease of use, portability, depth of CFP test functionality and high degree of repeatability required to ensure accurate test results.

FTB-500 platform equipped with FTB-85100G Packet Blazer, 100G/40G Multiservice Test Module, and FTB-5240S Optical Spectrum Analyzer were the preferred tools used to validate Infinera and DANTE’s setting of a new Guinness World Record.

EXFO provides state-of-the-art equipment enabling operators to test and validate their networks at all rates to make sure that their customer needs are met at all times, which is why its validation equipment was recommended and supplied by Livingston sourced equipment, one of EXFO’s long term distributor as discussed in a previous blog.
