Yvon Rouault holds the position of Advisor, CTO Office and focuses on new technologies such as Data Analytics, LTE Advanced, NFV, 5G, and Fronthaul. With some 29 years of experience in the network test and measurement (T&M) industry, Yvon has occupied various roles ranging from engineering, sales support, account management, channel management, product marketing, and advisor at the CTO office level.

Yvon has worked for leading companies such as; Hewlett Packard, Agilent Technologies and Tektronix Communications and has provided solutions in various networking domains, from transport networks (SDH, etc.) to fixed networks (ISDN, SS7 and VoIP), ‎switching and routing (ATM, IP, MPLS), and mobile networks.

Yvon holds an engineering degree in Electronics from E.S.E.O. Angers (France) and a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from H.E.C. Paris.

The move from centralized to virtual radio access networks (RANs) is already happening, with baseband unit (BBU) virtualization moving many functions to software, paving the way for 5G and pre-5G LTE-Advanced (LTE-A). This webinar explores the market drivers and the technical challenges of the RAN transformation from fiber to the antenna (FTTA) to centralized RAN (C-RAN) and virtual RAN, the state of virtualized baseband unit (vBBU), the long-term evolution of fronthaul beyond the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) to packet-based transport, and testing requirements at the optical and protocol layers.
