Technical Sales Specialist

Job summary

 

In order to support its business growth in Africa region, EXFO is recruiting a Technical Sales Specialist. Reporting to Director-Sales Engineering, this role will consist in promoting & selling the products & services of the Company in order to be considered as a trusted advisor by our regional customers by anticipating their expectations and needs.

 

What you’ll do

 

  • Provide technical support to the Regional sales team, presenting the EXFO’s products/solutions, providing technical expertise, coordinate technical answers towards the customers, link to the Products Marketing Team
    • Size and elaborate technical offer: Gather information about technical needs
    • Propose of an architecture for the EXFO solution and/or services taking into the customer context
    • Value of the solution
  •  Follow up valuations of our solutions
    • Follow and proceed regularly to the internal and external assessment needs
  • Pilot answers to call for bids
    • Liaise between existing customers and EXFO (BU Product, C&S, SCO, Quality…)
  • Consolidation of the internal answers Support demo tools build for sales
    • Identify additional sales tools
    • Provides support to Products and Marketing BU for demo build
    • Adapt materials used in pre-sales in connection with product marketing and technical department
  • Coordinate the Technical support to the Customer, local technical training session for customers, distributors or representatives if needed.

 

What we’re looking for

Technical skills

  • Technical expertise in 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile Networks & IP networks
  • Good knowledge of mobile operators environment
  • Highly desirable Fibre Optic technology knowledge an advantage
  • Skills in the following domains is a nice to have
    • Light Source – Power Meter Fibre link loss budget testing
    • OTDR Theory and Usage
    • ORL testing

 

Required Skills and Aptitudes

  • Articulated, able to communicate and interact with team members and customer at different levels
  • Self starter, autonomous and well organized
  • Possess drive, motivation and acute attention to detail ensuring Technical aspects of sales opportunities are captured and explored
  • Highly self-motivated and results-oriented

 

Academic and Professional Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or other related technical major preferred.
  • Language requirements:  Fluent in English, Frenchis a plus
  • Other:  Willing and able to travel extensively, 40% of the time
