The event management team is one of the driving forces behind EXFO's reputation around the world as well as lead generation. Whether through webinars, virtual events or in-person events, the team is committed to providing a customer experience with the highest standards. The new reality generated by the pandemic has led us to rethink some of our practices, to integrate more technologies into our initiatives and to sharpen our sense of innovation.

Job summary

 

In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the main mission of the event planner is to design, plan and manage in-person and virtual events, and of course, to ensure their success and performance. 

 

The second mission of this role is to actively participate with his colleagues in developing a hybrid practice combining technologies and the human side in a dynamic and changing world! 

 

What you'll do

Actively work with internal stakeholders to develop a customized event experience that meets their goals.

Budget, design, plan, coordinate and deliver virtual and in-person events.

Manage communications in support of events.

Ensure liaison with suppliers and event organizers.

Influence and work together with the various marketing teams (copywriting, design, digital, PR, etc.) to promote the events under your responsibility and ensure their success.

Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of virtual and in-person events.

Analyze KPIs, phrase and present recommendations to stakeholders.

Monitor trends in the event management and planning industry and provide recommendations.

Follow up on shipments related to in-person events

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.  

You constantly question ways of doing things. 

Ability to meet deadlines with little supervision and in changing environments. 

Acute curiosity for new technologies 

Have some geek blood running through your veins. 

 

Must haves

Bachelor's degree in communication or equivalent experience will be considered 

Minimum of 2 – 3 years in project management, ideally in a context of organizing events. 

Have some geek blood running through your veins. 

Have the ability and inclination to travel abroad when sanitary conditions are more than satisfactory. 

Fluent in English and French.
