You’ve probably heard the saying “25G is the new 10G”— and 50G is not far behind. That said, can any transceiver type be deployed on any fiber; and can 10G links be upgraded to 25G (or 50G), all without negative consequences? The answer is…well, not quite. For example, not too long ago when networks moved from 2.5G to 10G, some limitations and precautions were considered for issues such as dispersion. The same type of precautions should be considered during this latest migration.
In this webinar we will present the types of transceivers available on the market. We will also define and explain chromatic dispersion (CD) and polarization mode dispersion (PMD). To conclude, we’ll outline best practices to follow when deploying 25/50G transceivers.
