Over the past decade, data centers have evolved in scale of both greater and lesser size and function, to the point where the term "data center" is no longer sufficient to adequately define the scope of services such a facility provides -- additional clarification is now needed. This webinar will review what makes a data center an “edge data center," and its primary role within the larger network. The webinar will also discuss passive network options, such as cable and connectivity, required to accommodate needs specific to the edge data center network. Attendees will also learn about the drivers behind edge computing and the role of fiber-optic cabling in enabling this framework. Use cases and fiber-optic cabling considerations when deploying edge computing across various applications and environments will also be addressed.
