400G Technologies: the new challenges that lie ahead

Bruno Giguère is a Sr. Product Line Manager with EXFO’s Field Automation Business Unit.  In this role, he leads the workflow automation and fleet management products strategy and roadmaps and defines go-to-market plans.

Bruno has held various technical and marketing positions in the Test and Monitoring industry and standard organizations.  He has authored or co-authored numerous white papers, application notes, magazine articles and technology reference guides and presented in many technology seminars and webinars.  Bruno holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the École de technologie supérieure in Montréal, Canada.

In the last 12 months, we have seen multiple trials for 200G and 400G transmission worldwide on both client and line sides, which have presented multiple challenges. At this moment, new technologies and standards are being developed by groups, such as ITU, IEC, OIF, IEEE, to meet beyond 100G network requirements.  This webinar will review the potential technologies enabling transmission beyond 100G and the expected challenges related to deployment and testing, with a particular focus on long-haul and metro requirements.
