Passive Optical LAN (POL) for High-Bandwidth Enterprises
Webinar of the Week Blog Series
Following the fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) trend to deliver more bandwidth to consumers, a new technology is emerging that promises to provide more bandwidth and more services to enterprises while future-proofing their networks. Passive Optical LAN (POL) services are slowly changing the way local area networks are designed, but still remain unfamiliar to most. With this in mind, EXFO recently collaborated with 3M and came up with a webinar that provides an in-depth take on this technology.
Tune in for a POLs technology overview, a comparison between POL and traditional Ethernet switching architectures, and a review of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) standards applicable to the design and testing of POL solutions in order to address considerations such as splitters, connectors, signals and more.
Not convinced? Here is what attendees had to say about this event:
~ "Good coverage on POL and great presentations for clear understanding. Hats off to all three presenters for sharing their time and knowledge."
~ "That's wonderfull webinar, I like the combination between the 3M & EXFO. I hope to get more webinars about that, to let us engage with the latest technology and choose the right way for our business in middle east."
~ "Excellent presentation. This small event opened my eyes and broadened my horizons. Off to learn more about this exciting architecture and technology!"
