All-in-One LTE Testing Tool
The 3GPP organization has specified the next-generation mobile architecture called long-term evolution (LTE) and system architecture evolution (SAE). Together they provide better end-user services and advanced radio-related features combined with an efficient network architecture.
LTE and SAE testing brings new challenges. The eNB includes all radio-related functions and the LTE radio interface is up to 10 times faster than in WCDMA. Radio-related measurement reports coming from UEs are not visible outside the radio interface, which can make radio interface optimization challenging. LTE and SAE use the IP protocol for all communication. Quality of service (QoS) verification for VoIP services, data applications and video broadcasting increases the need for sophisticated testing tools.
Powerful Wrap-Around Tester
EAST LTE enables wrap-around testing of eNB. EAST LTE wraps eNB by using S1, X2 and LTE Uu interfaces, and simulates both control plane and userplane with the help of supported test mobiles.
EAST LTE can be used in functional and load testing. In functional testing, EAST LTE can send or receive any protocol messages of the supported interfaces. It also generates and receives IP user plane messages. In load testing, EAST LTE simulates heavy load of control plane and userplane traffic.
The advanced telecom computing architecture (ATCA) hardware platform offers a scalable platform with high packing density and reliability. EAST LTE performance further increases when ATCA vendors provide new processor or interface units.
The network processing unit (NPU) with specialized co-processors for TCP, IPSec, encryption, compression and regular expressions improves protocol processing performance and enables even more capacity for heavy load testing.
