The sipFlex Test Suite, the industry’s most flexible yet easy to use application, provides unprecedented flexibility and comprehensive test capabilities for characterizing VoIP and IMS networks. It combines flexibility in message and call flow definition as well as in application creation to perform feature, negative, interoperability, load and scalability testing using a single test application with no need to perform any scripting.
IMS P-CSCF Testing
The P-CSCF serves as the initial point of contact for the subscribers to the IMS network. It performs key functions such as proxying SIP messages from the subscriber to the IMS network, establishing IPSec tunnels between the subscriber equipment and IMS network and the protection of the IMS core against SIP message floods. Since the P-CSCF acts as a conduit for the user interactions with the IMS core, the ability of the IMS core to provide IMS services such as Presence, Voice Calls, IP Centrex service and Conference services can be negatively impacted by the P-CSCF. Therefore exhaustive testing of the P-CSCF is necessary to ensure a reliable IMS network that will be able to provide toll grade quality of service for the various IMS services.
The P-CSCF test solution is focused on testing the key functions of the P-CSCF. It emulates the IMS subscribers supporting IMS AKA and IPSec, and the rest of the IMS core network, which includes the I/S-CSCF and HSS on a single test platform.
Features
- 1 280 000 emulated endpoints supporting protocol compliant registration refresh using IMS AKA and/or HTTP digest
- 4250 calls per second
- 9500 registrations per second with authentication
- 320 000 IPSec tunnels
- Characterize the response latency for registration and call setup
- Codecs supported: AMR, ILBC, G.711, G.729,G.721,G.726,G.723, EVRC, EVRC-B, H.263, H.264, DTMF, etc.
- Define any SIP message (valid, invalid and proprietary) using a GUI or a text-based editor
- Create any call flow (valid, invalid and proprietary); manipulate protocol state machine using a ladder diagram
- S/I-CSCF and HSS test fixture to terminate IMS registration
- Emulate IMS network cloud consisting of several elements in the IMS network
IMS S/I-CSCF Testing
The S/I-CSCF test solution is focused on testing the key functions of the S/I-CSCF. It emulates the IMS subscribers supporting IMS AKA and IPSec, and the rest of the IMS Core network which includes the IMS core and HSS on a single test platform.
Features

- Create any call flow (valid, invalid and proprietary); manipulate protocol state machine using a ladder diagram
- P-CSCF + HSS test fixture to terminate IMS registration
- Emulate IMS network cloud consisting of several elements in the IMS network
IMS IP Centrex Testing
The IP Centrex test solution is focused on testing the key functions of the IP Centrex server. It emulates a wide variety of Class-5 features that can be initiated and terminated simultaneously through the IP Centrex server to test its functionality, scale and performance.
Features
- 1 280 000 emulated endpoints supporting any mix of Class-5 features
- 24 built-in IMS Class and VoIP flows and a flexible editor to create any user defined flow
- Create traffic consisting of a mixture of features so as to simulate subscriber behavior
- Simulate call completion rates by simulating user response behavior
- Characterize the response latency for call setup
- Codecs supported: AMR, ILBC, G.711, G.729,G.721,G.726,G.723, EVRC, EVRC-B, H.263, H.264, DTMF, etc.

- Create any call flow (valid, invalid and proprietary); manipulate protocol state machine using a ladder diagram
IMS IP Presence Server Testing
The IP Presence Server test solution is focused on testing the key functions of the IP presence server. It emulates a behavior of a large number of presentities and watchers with a very easy to configure interface for mapping up watchers to presentities to test the Presence servers capability for performance and load
Features
- 1 280 000 watchers/presentities supporting any mix of watchers to presentities (e.g., 16 watchers to 1 presentity)
- Built-in test cases to test subscription/notify scenarios to emulate different subscriber scenarios
- Add in any .xml document to any of the messages to manipulate presence of the presentities
- Characterize the response latency for subscription and publications
- Create traffic consisting of a mixture of features so as to simulate subscriber behavior
- RFC 3903, RFC 3265 and RFC 3856 compliant
- Characterize the response latency for registration and call setup
