hssFlex Test Suite

The hssFlex Test Suite provides a comprehensive IMS test bed, allowing NEMs and NSPs to perform comprehensive device and end-to-end testing using a combination of the industry-leading HSS test emulator and IMS subscribers in a single test application. This test suite combines flexibility in message and signaling flow definition with ease of test case creation so as to perform feature, negative, interoperability, load and scalability testing using a single test application.

Applications

  • Complete test lifecycle coverage: feature, negative, load, regression, interoperability and scalability testing for IMS core network and elements such as I-CSCF, S-CSCF and AS
  • End-to-end IMS core testing using hssFlex and sipFlex to emulate the HSS and IMS subscribers respectively in a single and easy-to-use application
  • Registration testing using AKA and SIP digest; registration flood testing from both the subscribers and the HSS perspective
  • Real-time IMS network and device response latency measurement under various network load conditions
  • Various pre-built in test actions to simulate real-world scenario for testing user interactions such as an IMS user being denied services or the addition of new services to a user profile
  • Integrated SLF allows for testing of large scale IMS deployments and redirection capability of the IMS core network and elements such as the I-CSCF and the AS

Key Features

  • Over two million subscribers per chassis; 256 000 subscribers per port
  • Thousands of registrations with authentication per second
  • Thousands of database transactions per second
  • Tightly coupled interfaces (Cx, Dx, Sh, Dh, Ph) with real-time synchronization among all the interfaces
  • Simplified configuration and management of IMS subscriber and profiles
  • Out-of-the-box standard-compliant with flexibility to modify protocol state machines, messages and flows
  • Defines any Diameter AVP or message (valid, invalid and proprietary) using a GUI or text-based editor
  • Creates any signaling flow (valid, invalid and proprietary); manipulate protocol state machine using a ladder diagram
  • Creates traffic consisting of a mixture of signaling flows so as to simulate real world behavior
  • Pre-built test cases to simulate various IMS use cases including network operator initiated traffic
  • Characterizes the response latency for registration and call setup by defining key performance indicators implemented in hardware
  • Integrated subscriber locator function features
  • IMS AKA and SIP digest authentication support
  • IPv4, IPv6 support over UDP and SCTP
  • Integrated IMS test bed with IMS endpoints and HSS in one GUI
