Kaynam Hedayat, CTO and Sr. Director, Product Line Management, is responsible for various product management and product marketing initiatives that define and drive the strategic technology direction of the firm and representing the organization on relevant standards bodies. An 18-year industry veteran, Kaynam is an acknowledged expert in the areas of voice and video over IP.
He is co-author of a new VoIP management protocol, RTP Control Protocol Extended Reports (RTCP-XR), which defines a set of standard metrics for assessing VoIP call quality and diagnosing problems. Additionally, Kaynam is co-author of the book, "Multimedia Systems, Standards, and Networks," is co-holder of U.S. Patent No. 7,058,020 that covers a technique for hardware time-stamping, has several additional patents pending, and is the lead author of several IETF standards.
Kaynam has a Master's of Engineering degree from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University.
