Under the supervision of the Network and Computer Support Manager, the Computer Technician addresses inquiries regarding hardware and software support of the computer population, prepares new computer equipment, performs appropriate upgrades and assists users with the use of computer tools. Moreover, the Computer Technician establishes diagnosis and takes necessary corrective actions related to on-site and remote computer workstations.
Specifically, the Computer Technician:
- Corrects hardware and software anomalies
- Provides first-line assistance to Help Desk requests;
- Configures new computer equipment and performs upgrades, as required
- Contributes to establishing configuration standards
- Participates in developing management and configuration deployment tools
- Provides remote support to external users (telephone, WebEx, Team Viewer, etc.).
As needed, the Computer Technician carries out any other related duties.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of Windows network architecture
- Knowledge of workstation configuration under Windows
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and other general office software configuration
- Ability to build and modify common hardware and software configuration for a PC workstation, namely laptop computers

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Education: University Degree or Technical Degree/Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Technology
Pertinent experience: Two years of relevant experience in computer support (remote support an asset)
Language requirements: Ability to competently write and speak in English is mandatory
