Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement Specialist

As a Specialist - Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement, you will have to assume the management of various projects for operational excellence in all business processes deployed within the organization.

 You will take direct leadership of work teams assigned to projects and will act as a coach to other managers assigned to projects of this nature. Thus, you will ensure the effectiveness of work teams and the achievement of results through a systemic approach and the use of proven methods and tools.

 You will act as an agent of change by applying a constant watch on the best practices deployed within organizations by sharing your knowledge with employees, including the concepts and tools of continuous improvement. You will promote and support the adoption in all services.

More specifically, you will ;

  • Help define and manage key stakeholder expectations of a process improvement project;
  • Plan and lead the successful delivery of cross-functional process improvement initiatives that are focused on improving operational excellence and customer experience while leveraging Lean Six Sigma and process design capabilities;
  • Collaborate and build strategic relationships with key business leaders and process owners across the organization to identify, frame, evaluate and prioritize organization-wide process improvement opportunities aligned with corporate strategic goals and objectives;
  • Communicate initiative and program updates to management team members;
  • Provide hands-on team leadership and process improvement subject matter expertise;
  • Facilitate the development and application of key performance indicators to track achievement of improvement targets;
  • Provide on-the-job training to the business as needed as it relates to driving process improvements;
  • Identify areas for improvement, and implement and facilitate lean manufacturing and service process techniques;
  • Perform benchmarking exercise against best in class organization;
  • International travel may be required;
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong working knowledge in a breadth of process and quality improvement principles and methodologies including Lean Six Sigma
  • Strong depth of understanding of the dynamics of organizational change with demonstrated ability to lead change initiatives
  • Sound working knowledge of analytical problem solving techniques
  • Recognized as a thought leader in the process improvement space with a solid understanding of latest developments and opportunities within the space;
  • Strong knowledge of project management processes and demonstrated ability to successfully manage programs with multiple complex tasks;
  • Must have demonstrated ability to train others in Lean / Six Sigma Principals such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, Visual Workplace, PDCA, DMAIC, etc;
  • Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to establish rapport and credibility across all levels of the organization;
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve measurable financial results;
  • Working knowledge in a complex technology/ERP/systems implementation environment;

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent related experience
  • Obtained LSS black belt certification will be considered as a strong asset

Pertinent experience: Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar or related position.

Language requirements: Bilingualism (French and English, oral and written)
