NQMS System Engineer

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

As Part of the Technical support group, the NQMS System Engineer will be a member of the Services team and will work directly with NQMS System Sales specialists and Product Line Management on presales activities including; Trials, Demos, System Engineering, professional proposal preparation and presentation.

The NQMS SE will be responsible to understand the customer application and the customer environment, and be a technical expert with the NQMS system. Other responsibilities will be to ensure clear project scope and definition, while engineering an efficient and feasable solution.

The NQMS Fiber system is a distributed system, consisting of a Linux or Windows based server connected to a series of remote measurement probes. The NQMS Fiber system is used to detect and locate physical faults or degradation in a deployed fiber-optic network.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Engineering degree in telecommunication or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and Experience working with Fiber plant and Fiber-optic network infrastructure
• Knowledge and experience working with GIS tools
• Excellent knowledge on the operation and optimization of OTDRs
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and IT administration, SNMP, Linux, Oracle a definate Asset

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or related professional experience in Engineering or related Technical Field required.

Pertinent experience : 3-5 years working in application engineering or technical sales support with distributed systems and/or telecommunication networks

Language requirements: Perfectly bilingual (English and French) Fluency in spanish will be considered an important asset.

Mobility: Available to travel 20 to 30%.
