EXFO Receives the 2005 Growth Strategy Leadership Award from Frost & Sullivan

In 2004, EXFO increased its market share by 22.6% within the fiber-optic test and measurement market—a figure that reaches 60.9% dating back to the industry downturn of 2001 (from 6.4% of the worldwide fiber-optic T&M market in 2001 to 10.4% in 2004, which gives EXFO the second place overall in the global fiber-optic test equipment market), the single largest gain among its peer group. As a result, Frost & Sullivan, the telecom industry's leading market research expert, named EXFO recipient of the 2005 Growth Strategy Leadership Award.

2004, Another Year of Growth for EXFO

Through increased sales and marketing intensity, a continued focus on innovation, expanded global presence and strong relationships with its customers, EXFO enjoyed significant growth in 2004, as well as in the first half of fiscal 2005. This success is based on many reasons:

  • Already a leading provider of OTDRs and optical loss test sets, EXFO grew its sales in these key market segments by more than 50% compared to 2003.
  • Through strategic distribution partnerships and technological alliances, EXFO has expanded its addressable market, leveraging its optical-layer market leadership into the protocol-layer test market.
  • Faithful to its tradition of innovation, EXFO launched several feature-rich test instruments, both for physical- and protocol-layer testing.

This award marks the second consecutive year that Frost & Sullivan recognizes EXFO's Growth Strategy excellence.
