ISO 17025

EXFO uses the ISO/IEC 17025 standard (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories) to improve our ability to consistently produce valid results.

Environment

ISO 14001

EXFO is proud to be ISO 14001 certified. Our Environmental Policy and environmental management system (EMS) provide the framework for EXFO to continue to be an environmentally friendly corporate citizen and a recognized leader in the community.

RoHS

EXFO products are subject to and comply with the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2012/19/EU and its amendments, which restrict the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment.  

Note: Although more and more countries are adopting this new approach to protecting our environment, interpretation of the Directive may vary according to State legislation.

REACH

We are committed to complying with the environmental requirements set by REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals), as defined by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

EXFO produces telecommunication test and measurement equipment made from optical, electronic, plastic and metal parts. EXFO does not use toxic chemical substances during its manufacturing processes. 

We do not manufacture or supply “substances” or “preparations,” and our products do not involve the “intentional release of substances.” 

Based on communications with our suppliers and to the best of our knowledge, our products requiring REACH compliance do not contain any of the currently listed SVHCs in concentrations of 0.1% or above.

WEEE

All products manufactured by EXFO comply with the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive (Directive 2012/19/EU and its amendments). This legislation enacted by the European Union regulates the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.

Human Rights

Conflict Minerals

EXFO is committed to sourcing any gold, tantalum, tin and tungsten necessary for our products from environmentally and socially responsible suppliers. It is our policy not to purchase from known conflict sources, and we expect our suppliers to abide by the same standard. EXFO has adopted the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) standard Conflict Minerals Reporting Template, and we request that our suppliers use the same format when reporting their supply chain status to us.

EXFO is a proud member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT); issued by the US Customs and Border Protection law enforcement organization it's focused on improving the security of private companies' supply chains with respect to risked posed by potential terrorist activities.
