Addressing PMD at 40 Gbit/s
Previously in this series, we examined the effects of chromatic dispersion (CD) at 40 Gbit/s and presented modulation formats and techniques to compensate for CD, including per-wavelength compensations. Another form of dispersion that affects 40 Gbit/s is polarization mode dispersion (PMD).
